26th LGS,

God I just love the smell of gun power in the morning on the Range. Once again a great day on the range this morning, with clear and beautiful Blue skies, Temp 75.2 -82.2 °F, wind at 8.6 - 11.5 MPH right out of the Northeast into my eyes, humidity at 18%, elevation on range is 5,928 feet. I brought out my NM M1A, using Winchester Repeating Arms 7.62x51mm 147 grain military surplus ammunition (MSA), from lot 22337, July 1964. Headstamp NATO cross 64 WRA.

I just picked this bandoleer a few weeks ago at our local Gun Show, with six pockets, with card board holders plus one spoon, 10 rounds per pocket, 60 rounds per bandoleer. Writing on bandoleers reads as follows.

Front side,
NATO 7.62MM
BALL M80
5 RD CLIPS
WRA 22663

Back side,
NOV PROD CO
JUL 64

Standard 100 yard range target, using my good eye.

Well the first string was a 164-4X, (Lot 22337, July 1964). Headstamp NATO cross 64 WRA, nice clean brass.
2nd grouping a little better with a 164-4X, (Lot 22337, July 1964). Headstamp NATO cross 64 WRA, nice clean brass.
3rd target was the best with a 178-6X, (Lot 22337, July 1964). Headstamp NATO cross 64 WRA, nice clean brass.
Then I shifted to the 220 yard targets, 18 of 20 hits on the metal Gong, (Lot 22337, July 1964). Headstamp NATO cross 64 WRA, nice clean brass.
Then I moved over onto the 560 yards target, using still the Wischester MSA from '64, I hit 17 out of 20 on the metal Gong. I was feeling so good that I needed to stop for a 1/2 Lbs. smoked Green Chiles Cheese burger with BBQ sauce on it from the Smokehouse on the way home. Oh by the way, they are open again. ;)

A lot of parents bring their children to the range this morning, two families both had three generations on the firing line at once...

Of the three paper targets I fired twenty rounds on each. By the time I had completed the third round and used my spotting scope to see how I had done, I found that the first paper target had 46 holes in it now!!! My twenty 7.62x51mm, a .45 cal. hole and the guy next to me put 25 .22 cal holes though it (weekend warriors, shorts and flip flops)!!!

That ammo really performed for you on the long range targets, its a shame that your 3rd target got ruined by a .22.

26th LGS,

God I just love the smell of gun power in the morning on the Range. Once again a great day on the range this morning, with clear and beautiful Blue skies with very few white clouds around the mountains only, Temp 76.2 - 78.0 °F, wind at 6.6-13.6 MPH right out of the East across the firing line, humidity high at 43%, elevation on range is 5,928 feet. I brought out my NM M1A, using Radway Green military surplus ammunition (MSA), from lot 1305-99-943-1501, Sept. 16th 1985. Headstamp NATO cross RG 85. The wooden crate has a U.N serial No. of 0339 stamped on it?

This Radway Green I had to dig deep into my bunker, to find this one to be tested once again. Packed in cardboard boxes of 20 rounds each. In clear vinyl bags, 5 vinyl bags or 1000 rounds per crate.

Standard 100 yard range target, using my good eye.

Well the first string was a 186-4X, (1305-99-943-1501, Sept. 16th 1985). Headstamp NATO cross RG 85 , bright shiny brass.
2nd grouping a little better with a 198-12X, (Lot 1305-99-943-1501, Sept. 16th 1985). Headstamp NATO cross RG 85 , bright shiny brass.
Then I shifted to the 220 yard targets, 18 of 20 hits on the metal Gong, (Lot 1305-99-943-1501, Sept. 16th 1985). Headstamp NATO cross RG 85 , bright shiny brass.
Then I moved over onto the 560 yards target, using still the Radway Green MSA from '85, I hit 5 out of 10 on the metal Gongs. This happens to be my personal best with the British surplus from 1985 to date (12X's). I didn't score the targets till I reached home. So I didn't stop at the Smokehouse or Bob's Burgers.

A few more children on the range this morning again...

I sure miss my shooting partner. :(

Great scores with your NM M1A and Radway Green, you'll have to check your bunker to see if there are any misplaced pallets of that
ammo laying around.

I have looked high and low for a missed placed pallet(s) or even a few missed place crates of the Radway Green surplus ammunition from 1985... Just no luck in the pass ten years 26th LGS. :(

26th LGS,

This is truly the Land of Enchantment. Once again a great day on the range this morning, with clear and beautiful Blue skies with very few white clouds around the mountains only, Temp 83.5 - 86.9 °F, wind at 4.5-6.2 MPH right out of the Northeast, humidity high at 64%, elevation on range is 5,928 feet. I brought out my NM M1A, using Radway Green 147 grain military surplus ammunition (MSA), from lot DD 1/205, 1995. Headstamp NATO cross RG 95 L2A2, bright shiny brass. It was great to have Suber back on the firing line again. ;)

This is the new Radway Green on the internet right now, the bandoleers are made out of plastic, with five pockets, with Velcro tabs on each pocket, 15 rounds per pocket, 75 rounds per bandoleer. Writing on bandoleers reads as follows.

Remploy Poole DD (RG) 1/205 ISSA 1995,

Standard 100 yard range target, using my good eye.

Well the first string was a test (*) of one round from the mag each 5 times, with average of 0.688" MOA, If adding the first round flier the MOA jumps up to 1.309"... (lot DD 1/205, 1995). Headstamp NATO cross RG 95 L2A2, bright shiny brass. (1.930" flier)
2nd grouping a little better with a 182-2X with average of 1.309" MOA, (lot DD 1/205, 1995). Headstamp NATO cross RG 95 L2A2, bright shiny brass. (1.425" flier)
3rd target was the best with a 198-8X with a average of 1.167"MOA, (lot DD 1/205, 1995). Headstamp NATO cross RG 95 L2A2, bright shiny brass. (2.000" flier)
Then I shifted to the 220 yard targets, 9 of 10 hits on the metal Gong, (lot DD 1/205, 1995). Headstamp NATO cross RG 95 L2A2, bright shiny brass.
Then I moved over onto the 560 yards target, using still the Radway Green MSA from '95, I hit 3 out of 10 on the metal Gongs, I sure was off...

So I still needed to stop for a 1/2 Lbs. smoked Green Chiles Cheese burger with BBQ sauce on it from the Smokehouse on the way home.

26th LGS,

Once again a great day on the range this morning, with clear and beautiful Blue skies with very few white clouds around the mountains, Temp 82.0 - 86.4 °F, wind at 7.5-9 MPH right out of the Southeast, humidity high at 69%, elevation on range is 5,928 feet. I brought out my NM M1A, using Malaysian military surplus ammunition (MSA), from lot MAL 10-83, Oct. 1983. Headstamp MAL 7 62 10-83.

Standard 100 yard range target, using my good eye.

Well the first string was a test (*) of one round from the mag each 5 times, with average of 0.656" MOA, If adding the first round flier the MOA jumps up to 0.978"... (lot MAL 10-83). Headstamp MAL 7 62 10-83, bright shiny linked brass. (1.340" flier)
2nd grouping a little better with a 195-0X with average of 1.706" MOA, (lot MAL 10-83). Headstamp MAL 7 62 10-83, bright shiny linked brass. (2.235" flier)
3rd target was the best with a 192-7X with a average of 1.617"MOA, (lot MAL 10-83). Headstamp MAL 7 62 10-83, bright shiny linked brass. (2.760" flier)
Then I shifted to the 220 yard targets, 2 of 5 hits on the metal Gong, (lot MAL 10-83). Headstamp MAL 7 62 10-83, bright shiny linked brass.
Then I moved over onto the 560 yards targets, using still the Malaysian MSA from '83, I hit 5 out of 10 on the metal Gong.

It was such a nice morning I stopped off at Bob's Burgers and I had a large double green chile Ranchero burger on the way home.

Suber and I spotted for each other, he's still chewing up that black circle on the targets.

26th LGS,

This is truly the Land of Enchantment still, once again a great day on the range this morning, with clear and beautiful Blue skies with very few white clouds around the mountains only, Temp 83.8 - 86.4°F, wind dead calm at 0 MPH, humidity high at 51%, elevation on range is 5,928 feet. I brought out my all Winchester build on a LRB receiver, I'm using today the Radway Green from 1990 & 1995 military surplus ammunition (MSA), plus some Winchester WCC from 2008. Headstamps RG 90 NATO stamp, RG 95 L2A2 NATO stamp and the Winchester WCC NATO stamp 08.

Standard 100 yard target, using iron sights only.

Well the first string was a 83-1X. Headstamp RG 95 L2A2 NATO cross, brass so-so.
2nd target a little better with a 88-0X. Headstamp RG 90 NATO cross, nice clean brass.
3rd target much better with a 87-1X. Headstamp WCC 08 NATO cross, nice clean brass.
Then I shifted to the 220 & 560 yard targets. This is when you sure need a spotter right next to you.

I saw and smelled some good Hatch green chilies in the grocery store in town yesterday. ;)

Here are the numbers for my last two trips to the range

M38 Swede with the last box of "Wolf Gold" from the Tulsa show we went to. 191/200 7-X,
I need to see if Wolf is still loading that ammo because I've had some real good results with it.

M91/30 Finn. Using Czech Silver Tip the 1st target 165/200 2-X, 2nd target was 172/200 1-X.
I had to use the mallet about 16/40 times to get my bolt open with that ammo.
Changing over to Albainian the 3rd target was 174/200 0-X.
Stopped at Lucky's yesterday and bought some fresh Hatch Chile's, they BURNED twice.
