Without line power the last two days and it was to windy outside to do much except drive a sailboat . So I went after the basement with the idea of straightening things up . While cleaning I found a couple of Garand stock sets I'd bought years ago . Both were made by Wenig's and one was a black walnut set I'd bought from then with the idea of building up a .308 match rifle . Remembering that makes me think I must have bought it while I was still shooting high power .

The other set was a French walnut set and it looks like all the pieces match . I remember buying it while I was at Camp Perry way back when . I was going to put it on my International Harvester rifle but it already had a bedded stock on it .

So now that they are found and back on my mind I might have to give it a little more thought :!:

Who says Jack won't find a couple of receivers shortly?

I got the blanks , probably eight or ten planks about eight feet long . they haven't been to Wenig's for profiling though . Getting that done isn't cheap , then there's getting them fitted to metal and finished . I like DGR for that , as for receivers ................ who said I didn't have a couple squirreled away ?????

All this takes is money and remember my days of overtime checks are done with . I would like to put that French walnut stock on one though , get it bedded and unitized .
